Dr. Pia Lieb has practiced cosmetic dentistry in New York for over 30 years, and she is the creator of The Dr. Pia Method, a minimally invasive approach that designs a new smile onto a patient's own teeth rather than filing them down first. Her work is the reason the practice exists, and she is the only dentist at the Park Ave S office, with no treatment delegated to an associate.
She holds the title of Clinical Assistant Professor Emerita at NYU College of Dentistry, where she taught from 1990 to 2008, 18 years, and her work in smile design has earned her the nickname the Michelangelo of Dentistry. She has been a member of the American Dental Association since 1989.
She was born in Romania and left with her family at five years old, spending two years in a refugee camp in Italy before arriving in New York at seven. She finished high school at sixteen and went straight on toward dentistry. That history shows up in how she works: patiently, and without much appetite for shortcuts.
