Invisalign in NYC
At Cosmetic Dentistry NYC, Dr. Pia Lieb corrects crowding, rotation, spacing, and bite irregularities using clear removable aligners. Dr. Pia applies Invisalign as a foundation treatment before no-drill veneers rather than as a standalone cosmetic service.
What Invisalign Is
Invisalign is a clear aligner system that moves teeth through a sequence of custom, removable trays. Each tray applies controlled force and advances teeth toward a planned final position.
Patients wear the trays 20 to 22 hours per day and remove them only to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. The trays are nearly invisible in conversation and at close range.
Treatment is mapped digitally before the first tray is worn. Dr. Pia Lieb reviews that plan against the restorative outcome the patient wants, not against alignment alone.
Why Dr. Pia Uses Invisalign Before Veneers
Invisalign functions as preparatory infrastructure at this practice. Straight teeth allow veneers to be thinner, more conservative, and closer to natural tooth proportion.
Crowded or rotated teeth force veneers to be bulkier, because the porcelain has to mask the misalignment rather than restore the surface. Correcting position first removes that compromise.
Dr. Pia Lieb assesses every patient for Invisalign eligibility as a default evaluation step. She does not upcharge on Invisalign and prices it lower specifically to secure the foundation.
Patients then proceed to no-drill veneers or a full smile makeover with a corrected bite already in place.
Who Is a Candidate for Invisalign in NYC
Strong Invisalign candidates present with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, gaps, or rotated teeth. Aligners also resolve minor bite irregularities that would otherwise compromise veneer placement.
Teeth and gums must be healthy before aligner treatment begins. Severe skeletal discrepancies can exceed what removable aligners correct predictably, and those cases are identified during the consultation.
Dr. Pia Lieb confirms candidacy using existing radiographs and a clinical examination. Patients are asked to email any current X-rays before the appointment so the review begins with complete information.
How Invisalign Treatment Works
Invisalign at Dr. Pia Lieb's practice follows five defined stages.
The Dr. Pia method governs how each stage connects to the final cosmetic outcome.
- 1Consultation and assessment. Dr. Pia Lieb evaluates alignment, arch width, and occlusion, then reviews your radiographs and restorative goals.
- 2Digital treatment design. A digital plan sequences each tooth movement toward a veneer-ready result rather than alignment in isolation.
- 3Aligner fabrication and fitting. Custom trays are produced and fitted, with attachments bonded where additional control is required.
- 4Progressive refinement. You advance through trays on schedule and return for monitoring appointments with Dr. Pia Lieb.
- 5Retention and transition. A retainer holds the corrected positions, and restorative work begins once the bite is stable.
How Much Invisalign Costs?
Invisalign ranges from $3,500 to $9,000, and reaches $14,000 in the most complex cases. Cost reflects case difficulty, total tooth movement, and the number of trays required.
Dr. Pia Lieb prices Invisalign deliberately low because it prepares the foundation for veneer work rather than serving as a revenue center. She does not upcharge on aligner treatment.
CareCredit and Alphaeon financing are available. The practice accepts credit cards, wire transfers, checks, and cash.

How Long Invisalign Takes
Most adult Invisalign cases complete within 12 to 18 months. Minor corrections can finish in roughly six months, while complex movements extend toward 24 months.
Foundation cases before veneers often run shorter, because the objective is alignment sufficient for restorative work rather than full orthodontic idealization.
Consistent wear determines the timeline more than any other variable. Trays worn fewer than 20 hours per day slow tooth movement and extend total treatment.
Sequencing also matters. Dr. Pia Lieb restores posterior dentition before anterior veneers, and states the reasoning plainly.
“We chew with our back teeth. Front teeth are for biting, not chewing. Porcelain will break.”
Invisalign vs Braces
Invisalign uses clear removable trays, while traditional braces use fixed brackets and archwires. Both systems move teeth effectively across mild to moderate cases.
| Invisalign | Traditional Braces | |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance | Clear, removable trays | Fixed brackets and archwires |
| Case range | Mild to moderate | Mild to moderate |
| Hygiene | Removes for meals and cleaning | Bonded; requires dedicated cleaning technique around brackets |
| Fit for cosmetic restorations | Integrates cleanly into a foundation-first treatment plan | Not built around a restorative sequence |
For adults planning cosmetic restorations, aligners integrate more cleanly into a foundation-first treatment plan. Our comparison of braces and Invisalign breaks down the practical trade-offs in detail.
